Using Different Social Media Tools!

I have always heard about twitter, my pastor and his wife are avid facebook and twitter users, but I have never taken the time to view it until now. I find it to be similar to facebook, which I never respond to anyone about anything…except if I am having a problem with a product or company. I vowed to stay off of the computer if I am not using it for my school assignments, because I was just looking on facebook last year and found out that my sister had died of breast cancer and was buried. When I set up my twitter account I was asked what my interests were I chose music and family. Troi Tyler from the radio station 102.7 popped up. She can play some boss music, it sounds so wonderful. I also saw my niece on twitter taking a selfie with her middle finger up. I also saw my neighbor telling someone something very ugly and nasty. Twitter has too many reminders for me and it could only cause trouble like facebook!

The second media tool I selected was video sharing. I tried uploading a video of my grandchildren playing outside. I took my phone charger from my Galaxy s5, plugged it into my phone and my laptop but I could not because it called for me to tap the USB icon on my phone but I did not have one. I was also prompted to drag the notification bar down and tap it, but the only thing that happened was hit the location icon, sound icon, screen rotation, Bluetooth, wi-fi, etc. I got a pop-up on my phone that stated connected as a camera touch for other USB options. I did touch for other options and I got media device (MTP) the box was unchecked and camera (PTP) with the green box with a white check. I feel as if I am a foreigner just feeling my way around. I am going to eventually master this…I don’t believe in just letting things beat me or go without understanding.

The third media tool I chose to try is mobile. I know all about taking pictures and videos, but I had no idea that I could do a screen shot of another picture. I was asking my daughter and looking up information on google. I had no idea that this s5 phone was so sophisticated. I was not interested in anything the phone could do but allow me to reach the outside world. The screen shot I took was my granddaughter Jessica, whose face on my home screen page.

The type of audience that might be interested in the types of tools I have chosen are the very young and the middle aged. When I say the very young I am referring to teenagers because when it comes to twitter and facebook they like posting their bodies, faces, talking about other people, keeping up trouble, and the middle aged individuals are not much better. People are getting killed because of the things that are being shared on these sites. I have seen my neighbor on twitter stating “she was on the toilet and someone was knocking on her door”. She was super mad. Who talks about something this private and personal?

I did not know how to submit my screenshot of my granddaughter, but as soon as I find I will submit it Renee! I am 55 years old and I know that is no excuse I just have to get with the times.
